His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II and His Beatitude Syriac Catholic Patriarch Mor Ignatius Youssef III Younan visited His Excellency Lebanese MP Sleiman Franjieh, Head of Tayyar Al-Marada at his residence in Bnesh’i in Zgharta, Lebanon.
His Eminence Mor Justinus Boulos Safar, Syriac Orthodox Patriarchal Vicar in Zahleh and Beqaa, Rev. Fr. Habib Mrad, Syriac Catholic Patriarchal Secretary, Very Rev. Raban Joseph Bali, Syriac Orthodox Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director accompanied His Holiness and His Beatitude.
During the meeting, His Holiness considered that “calling the Syriacs in Lebanon a minority is unfair and it is our right to have two parliamentarians representing us in the Lebanese Parliament”.
His Beatitude expressed his happiness to visit MP Franjieh and wished that a new president be elected soon to serve Lebanon and its people.
MP Franjieh assured the two patriarchs of his support in their demand.
