His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II met the Malfone (teachers) of the Syriac language and Christian Education in Rheda Wiedenbruck.
Their Eminences Mor Philoxenus Mattias Nayis, Patriarchal Vicar in Germany, Mor Julius Hanna Aydin, Director of Foreign Affairs in Germany, Mor Polycarpus Augin Aydin, Patriarchal Vicar in The Netherlands, and Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Patriarchal Vicar at the Patriarchal Archdiocese of Damascus were also present as well as the clergy of the region.
The malfone prepared a presentation of their work since the last meeting with His Holiness. They also offered His Holiness copies of the books they published, in particular a special book on the Prayer Service for the Martyrs of the Syriac Genocide Sayfo and a biography of Saint Augin.
In his speech, His Holiness thanked the malfone for their devotion in bringing the Syriac heritage to the children they are teaching as well as publishing books that help the readers learn about the Syriac Church and its rich patrimony.
