His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II visited Mor Yuhanon dakfone Church in Delmenhorst.
He was accompanied by their Eminences Mor Philoxenus Mattias Nayis, Patriarchal Vicar in Germany, Mor Julius Hanna Aydin, Director of Foreign Relations in Germany, and Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Patriarchal Vicar at the Patriarchal Archdiocese of Damascus. His Eminence Anba Damian, Archbishop of the Coptic Orthodox Church in Germany was also present.
The crowd of faithful received His Holiness and the accompanying delegation in a procession and His Holiness presided over the evening prayer in the church.
In his speech, His Holiness expressed his joy to be with the faithful of this parish and appreciated their warm welcome. He also told them that he enjoyed the special melodies that they chanted during the prayer; these are the old melodies from Mzizah and other regions of Turabdin.
The evening prayer was followed by a reception in the honor of His Holiness’ visit. The reception was attended by representatives of the different Churches in Germany. His Eminence Mor Dioscoros Benjamin Atas, Patriarchal Vicar in Sweden also joined the reception.
