“Love Unites Us” Concert – Damascus

Under the theme of “Love Unites Us”, St. Aphrem Patriarchal Choir, in the collaboration with UNDP, organized a concert at Al-Zahra Theater in Damascus to conclude the initiative for “Art for Peace” in Syria.
The initiative included categories of art like poetry, painting, song writing and music composition and consisted of a competition to select the best in each of these fields.
His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II attended the concert where St. Aphrem Patriarchal Choir presented Syriac traditional songs as well as songs from different parts from Syria reflecting the local musical heritage and diversity.
At the end of the concert, His Holiness congratulated the winners of the competition and encouraged the youth to explore their artistic talents and nurture their gifts in areas that reflect the society’s true culture.
He emphasized that peace is the only way human beings can live to the fullest and exhibit their talents and gifts.
He was accompanied by Very Rev. Raban Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director, Very Rev. Raban Cyril Babi, and Very Rev. Fr. Youhanna Saroukhan.
