His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II received Governor of Damascus Dr. Bishr Al-Sabban and Secretary of the Baath Party in Damascus Mr. Hussam Al-Samman, at the Patriarchate in BabTouma – Damascus.
The meeting was attended by His Eminence Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Patriarchal Vicar in the Patriarchal Archdiocese of Damascus, Mor Yacoub Eduardo, Patriarchal Vicar in Central America, and Very Rev. Raban Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director.
His Holiness discussed with Dr. Al-Sabban the current situation in Damascus and spoke about ways of cooperation between the Syriac Orthodox Church and the Governorate of Damascus to better serve the citizens of Damascus.
