Visit of Ambassador at Large Mr. Peter Heltai, Hungary Helps

 

His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II received their Excellencies Peter Heltai, Ambassador at large at the Hungarian Helps Program, and Mihalyi Geza, Ambassador of Hungary in Lebanon.

The meeting was attended by their Eminences: Mor Theophilos George Saliba, Metropolitan of Mount Lebanon and Tripoli, Mor Justinos Paulos Safar, Patriarchal Vicar in Zahla and Bekaa, Mor Clemis Daniel Kourieh, Metropolitan of Beirut, and Mor Timotheos Matthew, Patriarchal Secretary for Indian Affairs.

His Holiness discussed with their Excellencies the current situation in the Middle East, especially the persecution of Christians in Syria and Iraq. They also surveyed the projects that the Patriarchate is leading with the help of the Hungarian Government.

Their Excellencies reassured their support for Christians in the Middle East, as well as their ensuring the needed help to relief their pains.

At the end, His Holiness thanked their Excellencies as well as Hungary for the compassion it is showing towards the persecuted Christians.
