The Syriac Scouts and the Choir of St. Peter and St. Paul Cathedral in Baghdad welcomed His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II for his first apostolic visit to the Archdiocese of Baghdad and Basra.
His Eminence Mor Severius Hawa, Archbishop of Baghdad and Basra, welcomed His Holiness as well as the Heads of the Christian Churches in Baghdad: His Holiness Assyrian Patriarch Mar Gewargis III Sleewa, His Holiness Patriarch of Ancient Church of the East Mar Adai II, His Eminence Armenian Orthodox Archbishop Avak, His Eminence Greek Orthodox Metropolitan Ghattas, His Excellency Syriac Catholic Archbishop of Mosul Mor Youhanna Boutros Moushe, His Excellency Mgr. Alberto Hortego, Apostolic Nuncio, as well as Chaldean, Latin and other Archbishops.
Their Excellencies Syrian Ambassador and Indian Ambassador in Iraq were also present.
His Eminence Mor Severius Hawa welcomed His Holiness and the accompanying delegation.
In turn, His Holiness expressed his joy to be in Baghdad for this apostolic visit.
