Evening Prayer at St. Jesaja (Mor Esha’yo) Church – Wiesbaden

His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II presided over the evening prayer at Mor Eshayo Holoboyo Church in Wiesbaden, Germany, on the eve of its consecration.
The prayer service included the evening prayer as well as part of the consecration service.
Their Eminences Mor Philoxenus Mattias Nayis, Patriarchal Vicar in Germany, Mor Dioscoros Benjamin Atas, Patriarchal Vicar in Sweden, Mor Theophilus Kuriakose, Dean of the Seminary in Kerala and Patriarchal Vicar in Europe, Mor Julius Hanna Aydin, Director of Foreign Affairs in Germany, and Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Patriarchal Vicar at the Patriarchal Archdiocese of Damascus also participated in the evening prayer.
In his sermon, His Holiness spoke about the Lord’s choice of simple people to be His disciples and to carry on His gospel to the world. He compared the Syriac communities throughout the world to the disciples who were eager to let their faith be known to all and built churches and communities throughout the ancient world.
His Holiness also inaugurated a monument for the commemoration of the martyrs of the Syriac Genocide Sayfo at the entrance of the church.
