His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II attended the event organized to celebrate the 85th Anniversary of the National Evangelical Church in Kuwait (NECK). He was accompanied by His Beatitude Mor Baselius Thomas I, Catholicos of India, and their Eminences Mor Severius Abraham, Patriarchal Vicar in Kuwait, Mor Gregorius Joseph, Metropolitan of Cochin, Mor Severius Kuriakose, Chief Metropolitan of the Knanaya Archdiocese, Mor Aphrem Matthews, Assistant Metropolitan in Angamali, Mor Coorilos Geevarghese, Metropolitan of Niranam, and Mor Timotheos Matthew, Patriarchal Secretary for Indian Affairs, in the presence of His Grace Rt. Rev. Dr. Joseph MarThoma, Metropolitan of Malankara Marthoma Syrian Church.
Rev. Dr. Emanuel Gharib, President of NECK, welcomed His Holiness and the accompanying delegation and expressed his joy to have His Holiness present in this solemn occasion.
His Holiness, in turn, spoke about the good relations among the churches in Kuwait, especially the great care our Syriac community receives in Kuwait.
