St. Aphraim Syriac Orthodox Parish in Washington D.C. hosted a formal reception in honor of His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II.
His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak, Patriarchal Vicar for the Archdiocese of Eastern USA welcomed His Holiness and asked him to bless the members of St. Aphraim parish. The President of the board thanked His Holiness for his efforts to present the suffering and persecutions of Christians in the Middle East to the international community in the hope that they would help stop these persecutions and end the suffering of innocents.
His Holiness thanked the organizers of the reception and spoke about the current situation in the Middle East and the efforts of the Syriac Orthodox Patriarchate to help in developing programs to help our people stay in their homeland.
