His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II celebrated the Holy Qurobo for the Feast of Transfiguration and the Feast of Mor Gabriel at the SYGG 2017.
Their Eminences: Mor Theophilus George Saliba, Archbishop of Mount Lebanon and Tripoli, Mor Philoxenus Mattias Nayis, Patriarchal Vicar in Germany, Mor Nicodemus Daoud Sharaf, Archbishop of Mosul, Kirkuk and Kurdistan, and Mor Timotheos Matthew, Patriarchal Secretary for Indian Affairs, assisted His Holiness during the Holy Qurobo.
Their Eminences: Mor Gregorius Joseph, Metropolitan of Cochin and Secretary of the Regional Holy Synod in India, Mor Selwanos Boutros Al-Nehmeh, Archbishop of Homs, Hama and Environs, Mor Dioscoros Kuriakose, Metropolitan of the Simhasana Churches in North Kerala and Abbot of Malecuriz Dayro, Mor Athanasius Geevarghese, Metropolitan of the Simhasana Churches in South Kerala and Abbot of Mor Ignatius Dayro, Mor Clemis Daniel Kourieh, Metropolitan of Beirut, and Mor Chrysostomos Mikhael Shemoun, Patriarchal Vicar for the Patriarchal Benevolent Institutions in Atchaneh, were also present.
In his sermon, His Holiness spoke about the Lord’s transfiguration in which He revealed some of His glory to His disciples and assured them before His passion and crucifixion. His Holiness addressed the young participants of SYGG 2017 and spoke to them about the importance of knowing that the Lord is full of glory, especially when going on a mission and preaching the Gospel to others. He then spoke about the calling to preach and teach the people about salvation and the greatness of our Lord.
