On September 28th 2018, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II arrived to Stockholm Arlanda Airport in Sweden upon an official invitation from the Church of Sweden for him to be the guest of honor at the opening session of the General Synod of the Church of Sweden.His Holiness is accompanied by their Eminences Mor Philoxenus Mattias Nayis, Patriarchal Vicar in Germany, and Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Patriarchal Vicar in the Patriarchal Archdiocese of Damascus, and Very Rev. Raban Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director.
His Holiness and the accompanying delegation were received at the airport by a delegation from our Syriac Orthodox Church in Sweden led by their Eminences Mor Julius Abdelahad Shabo, Metropolitan of Sweden and Scandinavia, and Mor Dioscorus Benjamin Atas, Patriarchal Vicar in Sweden, as well as a delegation of representatives from the Church of Sweden led by His Grace Bishop Mikael Mogren.
