On September 14th 2018, on the occasion of the Feast of the Discovery of the Holy Cross, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II celebrated the Holy Qurobo at St. Peter and St. Paul Cathedral in Mor Aphrem Monastery in Maarat Saydnaya.His Eminence Mor Timotheos Matthew, Patriarchal Secretary for Indian Affairs, and Very Rev. Raban Jack Yakoub, Director of the Suryoyo Patriarchal Youth Department, assisted His Holiness in the Holy Qurobo.
In his sermon, His Holiness spoke about the story of the discovery of the cross, and the significance of the cross in the Christian life. His Holiness emphasized that as Christians, we boast in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, and carry our cross with joy following the footsteps of our Master.
The Holy Qurobo was attended by the youth taking part in the Suryoyo Youth General Gathering in Syria held at the monastery.
