Prayer for the Unity of the Church – St. Severus Church, Atchaneh

On January 22, 2019, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II, along with their Beatitudes: Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rai, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East for the Maronite Church, and Mor Ignatius Youssef III Younan, Syriac Catholic Patriarch of Antioch, Cardinal Mar Louis Raphael Sako, Patriarch of Babylon for Chaldeans, and Rev. Dr. Habib Badr, Senior Pastor of the National Evangelical Church of Beirut, presided over the prayer for the unity of the Church, held at St. Severus the Great Church at the Patriarchal Residence in Atchaneh, Lebanon.
 
During the prayer, sisters of St. Jacob Baradeus Convent presented several chants in Syriac and Arabic. Then prayers were raised for the unity of the Church and for peace to reign in the hearts of all humans that they may be one as God: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, is One. At the end, His Holiness, their Beatitudes, and all who were present exchanged the kiss of peace.
 
The prayer was attended by His Excellency Mgr. Joseph Spiteri, Apostolic Nuncio in Lebanon.
 
Their Eminences: Mor Theophilus Georges Saliba, Archbishop of Mount Lebanon and Tripoli, Mor Justinos Boulos Safar, Patriarchal Vicar in Zahle and Bekaa, Mor Clemis Daniel Kourieh, Archbishop of Beirut, and Mor Chrysostomos Michael Chamoun, Patriarchal Vicar and Director of the Patriarchal Benevolent Institutions in Atchaneh, were also present.
