On September 19, 2015, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II consecrated Mor Matta and Mor Behnam Church in Flemingsberg. He was assisted by their Eminences: Mor Dioscoros Benjamin Atas, Patriarchal Vicar in Sweden, Mor Dionysius Jean Kawak, Patriarchal Assistant, and Mor Nicodemus Daoud Sharaf, Archbishop of Mosul and Environs. The consecration service was attended by the clergy and faithful as well as representatives from local churches and political parties.
His Holiness delivered a soul-touching sermon about the necessity to have commitment to the church. Such commitment can be shown in participation in the Holy Qurobo, and receiving communion. In this way, the work of the Holy Spirit can be revealed in our lives and we will feel peace. Thus, one can live their Christian life based on faith and love. His Holiness also emphasized that the church is the faithful who construct it and make up the living stones of the congregation of the church.
