For the first time after being appointed as Minister of Social Affairs, Her Excellency Dr. Rima Al-Qadry, Syrian Minister of Social Affairs visited the Syriac Orthodox patriarchate in Bab Touma, Damascus. His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II welcomed Her Excellency.
His Holiness discussed with Her Excellency ways of collaboration between the ministry and the social department in the patriarchate, especially St. Ephrem Patriarchal Development Committee (EPDC). Her Excellency was given a detailed introduction to the work of EPDC and an overview of the major projects that it implemented during the current crisis in Syria.
The meeting was attended by His Eminence Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Patriarchal Secretary, His Grace Mor Maurice Amsih, Director of Public Relations, Very Rev. Raban Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director.
