Upon his arrival to Salzburg Airport, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II was received by His Excellency Mgr. Dr. Franz Lackner, Archbishop of Salzburg, and Arch-Abbot Dr. Korbinian Birnbacher, Abbot of St. Peter Head-Monastery in Salzburg. Their Eminences Mor Polycarpus Augin Aydin, Patriarchal Vicar in the Netherlands and Dr. Aho Shemunkasho from the Faculty of Theology at the University of Salzburg as well as priests and laypeople also welcomed His Holiness at the airport.
His Holiness then moved to St. Peter Head-Monastery in Salzburg where he signed the Golden book and visited the great Cathedral.
His Holiness and the accompanying delegation were given a tour of the monastery and its historical parts.
