On November 15, 2015, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II received His Excellency Mgr. Vincenzo Paglia, President of the Pontifical Council for the Family, and His Excellency Mgr. Mario Zenari, Apostolic Nuncio in Damascus, at the Patriarchate in Bab Touma, Damascus.
Their Eminences Mor Dionysius Jean Kawak, Patriarchal Assistant, Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Patriarchal Secretary, His Grace Mor Maurice Amsih, Director of Public Relations and Protocol and Very Rev. Raban Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director.
His Excellency Mgr. Paglia informed His Holiness about the recent developments in the meeting of the Pontifical Council for the Family held at the Vatican. He also expressed his concerns about the situation of Christians in the Middle East as he is on a short visit to study the ways of Syrian helping families that are affected by the crisis in their country.
His Holiness welcomed his guests and showed the readiness of our patriarchate to continue the cooperation with the Vatican to better serve the Christian communities in Syria and wherever they are in need.
