His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II convened a general meeting at the Patriarchal Residence in Atchaneh, Bikfaya, Lebanon to which he called Syriac activists to participate.
The general meeting was attended by their Eminences: Mor Theophilos George Saliba, Archbishop of Mount Lebanon and Tripoli, Mor Justinus Boulos Safar, Patriarchal Vicar in Zahleh and Beqaa, Mor Clemis Daniel Kourieh, Metropolitan of Beirut, and Mor Chrysostomos Mikhael Shamoun, Patriarchal Vicar in the Patriarchal Benevolent Institutions in Atchaneh.
Activists from the three Syriac Orthodox archdioceses of Lebanon were also present.
They presented their views and visions concerning the political developments in Lebanon and how to strengthen the political representation of our Church in Lebanon.
His Holiness stressed the importance to assume our historical role in Lebanon, especially in these special times. He recommended to further enhance our engagement in the public sector and in different areas of social and economic life in the country.
