His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II visited His Excellency Governor of Lattaqia Mr. Ibrahim Al-Salem at the headquarters of the governorate in the city center.
His Excellency Secretary of the Baath Party Dr. Mohammad Shrayteh was also present.
His Holiness was accompanied by their Eminences Mor Theophilus George Saliba, Archbishop of Mount Lebanon and Tripoli, Mor Selwanos Boutros Al-Nehmeh, Archbishop of Homs, Hama and Environs, Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Patriarchal Secretary, His Grace Bishop Mor Georges Kourieh, Dean of St. Aphrem Theological Seminary in Maarat Saydnaya, Very Rev. Raban Boutros Kassis, Patriarchal Delegate in the Archdiocese of Aleppo and Environs, and Very Rev. Raban Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director.
During the visit, the governor welcomed His Holiness and the accompanying delegation and expressed the joy of the people of Lattaqia to receive His Holiness for the first time in their city.
His Holiness also thanked His Excellency for his constant support of our community there and wished him success in his endeavors.
