On the occasion of St. Gregorius Day, the patron saint of His Beatitude Greek Catholic Melkite Patriarch Gregorius III Lahham, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II attended the Divine Liturgy celebrated by Patriarch Gregorius III at the Greek Catholic Cathedral of the Lady of Dormition in Bab Sharqi, Damascus.
His Holiness was accompanied by His Eminence Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Patriarchal Secretary, Very Rev. Fr. Zuhri Khazaal, and Very Rev. Raban Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director.
The Divine Liturgy was attended by His Excellency Mgr. Mario Zenari, Apostolic Nuncio in Damascus, His Excellency Mgr. George Abou Khazen, Latin Archbishop of Aleppo, and other clergy.
During the Divine Liturgy, His Beatitude welcomed His Holiness and thanked him for his participation in this occasion.
His Holiness presented his congratulations to His Beatitude and wished him and the Greek Melkite Catholic Church years of prosperity.
