His Excellency Mr. Mohammad Zaal Al-Ali, Governor of Hassakeh, visited His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II at the Archdiocesan Headquarter in Qamishly.
His Holiness expressed his condolences for the death of the martyrs of Qamishly and emphasized the importance of the Christian presence in the region.
His Excellency spoke about the Christians in Qamishly – and in the Governorate of Hassakeh in general, are an essential component of the society. He assured His Holiness that he will do his best in order not to have the attacks that took place, repeated.
His Grace Mor Georges Kourieh, Dean of Mor Aphrem Theological Seminary in Maarat Saydnaya, was also present along with the priests of our churches in Qamishly.
