His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II participated in the first Suryoyo Youth Gathering in Aleppo which was organized by Very Rev. Raban Boutros Kassis and the Youth leaders in the Archdiocese of Aleppo.
The theme of the gathering was: “You are the rock”. The number of the participants exceeded 400 young people.
His Holiness told the youth that they are the living rocks of which the church is made. He explained that indifference is a spiritual disease that destroys the body of the Church and that the youth are the church. He called the youth to respond to God’s calling for them to become living rocks that build the church which needs them.
The youth met for activities and the gathering was concluded with the celebration of the Holy Qurobo.
His Holiness was accompanied by His Grace Mor George Kourieh, Dean of Mor Aphrem Theological Seminary in Maarat Saydnaya and the clergy of the Archdiocese of Aleppo.
