His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II attended the funeral service of the Late Mother of His Brother in Christ, Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, Patriarch John X, at St. Georges Cathedral in Lattaqia.
The funeral service was attended by the Syrian Minister of Endowments, Dr. Mohammad Abdelsattar El-Sayyid, the Governor of Lattaqia Mr. Ibrahim El-Salem, and other dignitaries. His Holiness was accompanied by His Eminence Mor Selwanos Boutros Al-Nehmeh, Archbishop of Homs, Hama and Environs, Very Rev. Raban Boutros Kassis, Patriarchal Delegate in Aleppo and Environs, Very Rev. Raban Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director.
His Holiness offered his heartfelt condolences to Patriarch John X, both personally and on behalf of the Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch.
