Mor Aphrem Church in Buenos Aires organized a Prayer for Peace in Syria and on the occasion of the third year on the abduction of the two Archbishops of Aleppo Mor Gregorius Youhanna Ibrahim and Boulos Yaziji.
On this occasion, their Excellencies the Ambassador of Syria to Argentina Mr Hamza Dawalibi, Ambassador of Egypt to Argentina Mr. Rida Habib Zeki, and Ambassador of Lebanon in Argentina Dr. Antoun Andari attended this prayer as well as their Excellencies: Mgr. Leonid, Russian Orthodox Bishop of Argentina and South America, Mgr. John, Bishop of Caracas, Pastor David Calvo, representing the Christian Churches Association in Argentina, along with representative from the Muslim community and other fellows.
In his speech, His Eminence Mor Chrysostomos Youhanna, Patriarchal Vicar in Argentina, spoke about inner peace as a virtue, a gift from God and a fruit of the Holy Spirit. He prayed the Lord to spread peace and security in Syria, especially on the occasion of the National Day in Syria. He also spoke about the silence of the international community viz. the abduction of the two Archbishops of Aleppo, Mor Gregorius Youhanna Ibrahim and Boulos Yaziji, after three years since they were abducted. He beseeched the Lord to bless the faithful in Aleppo with their safe return soon.
At the end of the prayer, His Excellency Ambassador Hamza lit a candle for peace in Syria while Mgr. Leonid lit a candle for the two abducted Archbishops.
