Signing a Common Document for Parliamentary Legislation in Lebanon

His Holiness Mor Ignatius Aphrem II and His Beatitude Syriac Catholic Patriarch Mor Ignatius Youssef III Younan signed a common document requesting the establishment of two Parliamentary Seats in the Lebanese Parliament, one for the Syriac Catholic and one for the Syriac Orthodox.
The Common Document was signed at the Syriac Catholic Patriarchate in Beirut in the presence of their Eminences Mor Theophilus Georges Saliba, Archbishop of Mount Lebanon, Mor Justinos Boulos Safar, Patriarchal Vicar in Zahleh and Beqaa, Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Patriarchal Vicar in the Patriarchal Archdiocese of Damascus, and Very Rev. Fr. Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director from the Syriac Orthodox Church and their Excellencies Mor Rabola Antoine Beylouni, Mor Baselius Gergess Al-Kass Moussa, Mor Aphrem Youssef Abba and Rev. Fr. Habib Mrad from the Syriac Catholic Church.
His Holiness and His Beatitude also invited their Excellencies Members of the Lebanese Parliament who are on the Parliamentarian Committee for the Election Legislation.
His Eminence Mor Justinos Boulos Safar read the Common Document and then the two Patriarchs signed it.
