Visit of Cardinal Sergio da Rocha of Brazilia

His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II received His Eminence Cardinal-Designate Mgr. Sergio da Rocha, Archbishop of Brazilia and President of the Conference of Catholic Bishops in Brazil, at his residence in Brazilia.
The meeting was attended by their Eminences Mor Titus Boulos Touza, Syriac Orthodox Apostolic Nuncio in Brazil, Mor Selwanos Boutros Al-Nehmeh, Archbishop of Homs, Hama and Environs, Mor Chrysostomos Youhanna Ghassaly, Patriarchal Vicar in Argentina, and Very Rev. Raban Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director.
His Eminence welcomed His Holiness in Brazil and spoke about the good relations between the Syriac Orthodox Church and the Roman Catholic in Brazil.
His Holiness thanked His Eminence Cardinal-Designate Mgr. Sergio and spoke about the role of ecumenism in Brazil as a way for all the churches to witness together for Christ.
His Holiness hoped for further cooperation between the churches as well as more support to the missionary work that aims at serving the poor and bringing them closer to God as well as showing them the love and mercy of the Lord.
