On the occasion of the Feast of Mor Stephanos, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II celebrated the Holy Qurobo at St. Georges Patriarchal Cathedral in Bab Touma, Damascus.
Their Eminences Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Patriarchal Vicar in the Patriarchal Archdiocese of Damascus, and Mor Gregorius Malke Urek, Patriarchal Vicar in Adiyaman and Environs, assisted His Holiness in the Holy Qurobo.
In his sermon, His Holiness spoke about forgiveness especially in connection to those who offend us or persecute us. He compared the prayer of Mor Stephanos when he was stoned to death to that of the Lord on the Cross when He asked God the Father to forgive those who crucified Him.
