On the occasion of the Feast of the Protodeacon St. Stephanos, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II attended a reception for the shamoshe of the Patriarchal Archdiocese of Damascus.
His Eminence Mor Gregorius Malke Urek, Patriarchal Vicar in Adiyaman and Environs, was also present.
His Holiness congratulated the shamoshe on the feast of the Protodeacon St. Stephanos and reminded them of the sacred mission they have in serving the altar of God. He also emphasized the importance of being committed and devoted to their service showing that discipline is a reflection of obedience and understanding of the vocation they are called for.
