His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II received Former Prime Minister of Syria Dr. Mohammad Mustafa Miro, at the Patriarchate in BabTouma – Damascus.
The meeting was attended by His Eminence Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Patriarchal Vicar in the Patriarchal Archdiocese of Damascus, and Very Rev. Raban Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director.
His Holiness discussed the recent developments in Syria, especially after the liberation of Aleppo from terrorist groups. He also spoke about the current situation in the different regions and governorates in Syria and hoped that peace will soon return to Syria. Former Prime Minister Miro spoke about the necessity to fight terrorism and religious fanaticism in order to get tolerance and coexistence back to Syria and the Syrian people.
