His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II received His Excellency Dr. Waleed Bukhari, Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Lebanon, at the Headquarters of the Archdiocese of Beirut in Achrafieh.
Their Eminences Mor Theophilus Georges Saliba, Archbishop of Mount Lebanon and Tripoli, Mor Justinus Boulos Safar, Patriarchal Vicar of Zahleh and Beqaa, Mor Clemis Daniel Kourieh, Metropolitan of Beirut, Mor Chrysostomos Michael Shemoun, Patriarchal Vicar of the Patriarchal Benevolent Institutions in Atchaneh, Mor Yacoub Eduardo, Patriarchal Vicar in Central America, Very Rev. Raban Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director, and Very Rev. Raban Carlos Babi attended the meeting.
His Excellency expressed his joy to meet His Holiness and spoke about the promotion of religious tolerance and fighting extremist religious ideologies and teachings.
In turn, His Holiness welcomed His Excellency and spoke about the role of religion in promoting peace and dialogue. He also asked the help of Saudi Arabia in the case of the abducted Archbishops of Aleppo Boulos Yaziji and Mor Gregorius Youhanna Ibrahim.
