His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II honored Mr. Doug and Mrs. Naomie Enns, the Representatives of the Mennonite Central Committee for Lebanon and Syria in appreciation of their work with the Syrian people. Doug and Naomie will not continue to be the representatives of MCC in Lebanon and Syria. They decided to visit Syria before the end of their term. As a token of appreciation for their devoted service to the Christians, the Syriac Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch invited the different partners who have benefited from MCC’s help to a reception honoring them.
His Holiness spoke about the 25 years of cooperation and the message of peace-building and love that the MCC spread wherever they helped and worked.
The reception was also attended by His Eminence Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Patriarchal Vicar in the Patriarchal Archdiocese of Damascus as well as clergy, NGO representatives and volunteers.
