His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II attended a special Easter event for the children of different orphanages in Damascus. This event is organized by St. Jacob Baradeus Church in Jaramana. The children of the “Little Angel House” also participated in this event.
His Eminence Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Patriarchal Vicar of the Patriarchal Archdiocese of Damascus, Very Rev. Raban Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director, Very Rev. Raban Cyril Babi and Very Rev. Raban Barsom Kando were also present in the event.
His Holiness spoke to the children about the joy we have celebrating the Resurrection of our Lord. He directed the leaders of the groups of children to take care of the children and teach them the values to be good citizens in the Syrian society. He spoke about the importance to allow children to enjoy their childhood.
In this event, His Holiness spoke about Easter’s message of hope and prayed for peace in Syria.
Gifts were distributed to the children at the end of the event.
