His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II celebrated the Holy Qurobo on Easter Sunday at St. Georges Patriarchal Cathedral in Bab Touma Damascus. His Eminence Archbishop Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Patriarchal Vicar in the Patriarchal Archdiocese of Damascus assisted His Holiness in the Holy Qurobo. In his sermon, His Holiness spoke about the fear that comes from ignorance and from lack of faith. He assured the faithful that Christ’s resurrection is victory over death and fear. The resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ helps us conquer our fear through faith. He also prayed for peace in Syria and in the Middle East and for the return of the two abducted Archbishops of Aleppo Boulos Yaziji and Mor Gregorius Youhanna Ibrahim. During the Holy Qurobo, His Holiness led the procession of the Cross as well as the special prayers for the Resurrection. The Holy Qurobo was followed by a performance of the Syriac Patriarchal Scouts.
