His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II celebrated the Holy Qurobo on the occasion of the Feast of St. Georges at St. Georges Shrine in the old city of Damascus. His Holiness was assisted by His Eminence Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Patriarchal Vicar of the Patriarchal Archdiocese of Damascus.
In his sermon, His Holiness spoke about martyrdom and its connection to the propagation of faith in the early days of Christianity. He mentioned the main elements of the biography of St. Georges the Martyr and how he sacrificed his life for the sake of keeping the faith and proclaiming the Lord Jesus Christ as his God and savior.
