Under the auspices of His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II, His Eminence Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Patriarchal Vicar for the Patriarchal Archdiocese of Damascus, invited the Archdiocesan board members as well as the leaders of the Archdiocese’s institutions to a general meeting at the Patriarchate in Bab Touma.
The general meeting began with an opening prayer by His Holiness followed by a spiritual word in which he emphasized the role of the ministry of each Christian as a witness to Christ through his or her deeds. He spoke about leadership and service and highlighted the preaching role of a Christian who can spread the gospel by being a role model and an example for others to follow.
His Eminence Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury gave an overview of the developments that took place in the Archdiocese since the enthronement of His Holiness.
Very Rev. Raban Jack Yacoub, Director of the Youth Department, gave a spiritual talk on the role of the Holy Spirit in keeping the faithful eager to serve and spread the good news of salvation to all.
The institutions and associations of the Archdiocese then gave a detailed overview of their work and a presentation of the major projects of the Archdiocese.
The meeting was also attended by His Grace Bishop Mor Maurice Amsih, Patriarchal Delegate for the Archdiocese of Al-Jazeerah and Euphrates, as well as the clergy of the Archdiocese.
