Upon his arrival to California, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II was received by His Eminence Mor Clemis Eugene Kaplan, Patriarchal Vicar for the Western USA, along with Rev. Fr. John Saif, Parish Priest of Mor Elias Church in San Bernandino and members of the organizing committee of the 53rd Annual Convention for the Syriac Orthodox Church in Northern America. His Holiness was accompanied by His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak, Patriarchal Vicar for the Eastern USA and Very Rev. Raban Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director.
His Holiness prayed at Mor Elias Church and blessed the faithful gathered in the church. He expressed his joy to be with them during the convention.
The prayer was followed by a banquet in honor of His Holiness.
