His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II presided over the evening (ramsho) prayer at Mor Jacob of Nisibin Church in Qamishly.
The prayer was also attended by their Eminences: Mor Maurice Amsih, Archbishop of Jazeera and Euphrates, Mor Justinos Boulos Safar, Patriarchal Vicar in Zahleh and Beqaa, Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Patriarchal Vicar of the Patriarchal Archdiocese of Damascus, and Mor Timotheos Matthew, Patriarchal Secretary for Indian Affairs as well as the clergy from Qamishly.
At the end of the prayer, His Holiness gave a spiritual sermon in which he reminded the faithful of the necessity of giving praise to the Lord, despite the tribulations and difficulties that we face in our daily lives. Furthermore, His Holiness spoke about the negative role that migration has on the faithful, forcing them to leave their homeland seeking a better life, but finding only more difficulties and becoming uprooted from their homeland and the land of their forefathers.
