His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II inaugurated the new factory for the production of bags in Hassakah. His Excellency Mr. Jayez Al-Moussa, Governor of Hassakeh was present.
The factory is a project resulting of the collaboration of the Syriac Orthodox Patriarchate with the UNDP. It aims at developing the area and offering job opportunities to the local people. It produces various types of bags using new techniques.
Their Eminences Mor Maurice Amsih, Archbishop of Jazeerah and Euphrates, Mor Justinus Boulos Safar, Patriarchal Vicar in Zahleh and Beqaa, Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Patriarchal Vicar in the Patriarchal Archdiocese of Damascus, and Mor Timotheos Matthew, Patriarchal Secretary for Indian Affairs, were also present at the inauguration.
