Syriac Cultural Festival (SYGG-Syria)

His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II participates in the Syriac Cultural Festival held at the conclusion of the Suryoyo Youth General Gathering – Syria, at the Syriac Martyrs garden in Bab Touma – Damascus.

The festival was organized by the patriarchal youth department. St. Aphrem Patriarchal Choir presented several cultural and national songs in both Syriac and Arabic. Then, Edessa Cultural Group performed a cultural dancing show.

In his speech, His Holiness expressed his great joy for the huge success of the Suryoyo Youth General Gathering; especially that it was concluded with a visit to Dr. Bashar Assad, President of the Syrian Arab Republic. He also said that this festival is a message of peace from the Syriac youth to all the cities and regions of the country.

Their Eminences: Mor Selwanos Boutros Al-Nehmeh, Archbishop of Homs, Hama, and Environs, Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Patriarchal Vicar in the Patriarchal Archdiocese of Damascus, and Mor Maurice Amsih, Archbishop of Al-Jazeerah and Euphrates, in addition to the monks, priests, deacons, as well as all the youth participating in the gathering, attended the cultural festival.
