His Holiness Presides over the Holy Regional Episcopal Synod of our Church in India

His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II presided over the Holy Regional Epsicopal Synod of the Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church in India, at the Patriarchal Center in Puthencruz – Kerala.
His Beatitude Mor Baselios Thomas I, Catholicos of India, as well as their Eminences Archbishops members of the regional episcopal synod attended the session.
His Holiness opened the session with a prayer, asking the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to guide the fathers of the Holy Synod to make the decisions that are for the common good of the Church and the faithful.
In his inaugural speech, His Holiness said that his visit to India is to assure our people who have been faithful to the throne, that their spiritual father is pained by what is happening to them, and is praying daily for the good of the church. His Holiness stressed that “We will spare no effort to help the church continue to serve and witness in India”.
The session was also attended by their Eminences: Mor Theophilus Georges Saliba, Archbishop of Mount Lebanon and Tripoli, Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Patriarchal Vicar for the Patriarchal Archdiocese of Damascus, and His Eminence Mor Timotheos Matthew, Patriarchal Secretary for Indian Affairs.
