On November 22, 2018, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II met His Excellency Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the “King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence”, in Bahrain.
His Excellency welcomed His Holiness in Bahrain. They then exchanged thoughts about the importance of peaceful coexistence between the various components of a society.
Upon the invitation of His Excellency, His Holiness visited “Beit Al-Quran” (House of Al-Quran) where he was received by Sheikh Salah Al-Jowder. His Holiness took a tour in the institute, and met with Dr. Abd Al-Latif Kanoo, Director of “Beit Al-Quran” and was introduced to the various Arabic manuscripts preserved there, as well as to the history of the institute.
Their Eminences Mor Coorilos Geevarghese, Patriarchal Vicar in Bahrain, Mor Gregorios Joseph, Metropolitan of Cochin and Secretary of the Regional Episcopal Synod in India, Mor Anthimos Matthews, Patriarchal Vicar in the United Kingdom and Ireland, and Mor Maurice Amsih, Archbishop of Jazeera and Euphrates, as well as Very Rev. Raban Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director, accompanied His Holiness.
