On January 25, 2019, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II met with His Excellency Consul General of the United States in Erbil Mr. Steven Fagin.His Holiness discussed with his guest the general situation of Christians in the Middle East, especially in the Nineveh Plain and the governorate of Kurdistan, and how to provide humanitarian help to them.
The meeting was attended by their Eminences Mor Nicodemus Daoud Sharaf, Archbishop of Mosul, Kirkuk, Kurdistan and Environs , and Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khouri, Patriarchal Vicar for the Patriarchal Archdiocese of Damascus, as well as Very Rev. Raban Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director.
