On June 17, 2019, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II celebrated the Holy Qurobo at St. Georges Church in Cordoba – Argentina.
His Holiness was assisted by their Eminences: Mor Chrysostomos Youhanna Ghassaly, Patriarchal Vicar in Argentina, and Mor Chrysostomos Mikhael Shemoun, Patriarchal Vicar and Director of the Patriarchal Benevolent Institutions in Atchaneh.
In his sermon, His Holiness spoke about the Feast of the Pentecost and the words of the Lord Jesus Christ: “Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid” (John 14: 27) because the Holy Spirit encourages the faithful and gives them wisdom. He also spoke about the persecutions that the fathers of the church endured so that they preserve the faith of the church and her tradition despite the threats and trouble.
He also expressed his joy to be among the Syriac community in Cordoba and meet them and asked them to continue to preserve the traditions that they learned from the forefathers who emigrated from the East to Argentina.
