On June 16, 2019, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II inaugurated a Sayfo monument for the commemoration of the martyrs of Sayfo Genocide, at the city hall of La Plata in Argentina.
The inauguration was attended by their Eminences: Mor Chrysostomos Youhanna Ghassaly, Patriarchal Vicar in Argentina, Mor Chrysostomos Mikhael Chamoun, Patriarchal Vicar and Director of the Patriarchal Benevolent Institutions in Atchaneh, Mor Titus Boulos Touza, Apostolic Nuncio to the Syriac Evangelical Mission Churches in Brazil, and His Excellency Mgr. Victor Manuel Fernandez, Archbishop of La Plata, as well as the Head of the Municipality and many other officials and a crowd of people.
