Meeting with the Governor of Cordoba

On June 18, 2019, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II met the Governor of Cordoba Mr. Juan Schiaretti.
 
His Holiness was accompanied by their Eminences: Mor Chrysostomos Youhanna Ghassaly, Patriarchal Vicar in Argentina, Mor Chrysostomos Mikhael Shemoun, Patriarchal Vicar and Director of the Patriarchal Benevolent Institutions in Atchaneh, and Very Rev. Raban Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director. The meeting was also attended by ministers of the local government of Cordoba in the presence of the Honorable Consul of Syria in Cordoba Mr. Abdallah Saddi.
 
His Holiness spoke about his official visit to the city of Cordoba and how it feels like he is among one big family. He thanked the Governor for helping the community preserve their heritage and traditions as well as the educational support they provide in general.
He then spoke about the situation of Christians in the Middle East, especially in Iraq and Syria and the difficulties and challenges due to the war. He also mentioned the problem of migration that is affecting the demography of the country.
His Holiness asked also to pray for the safe return of the two abducted Archbishops of Aleppo Mor Gregorius Youhanna Ibrahim and Boulos Yaziji.
