On July 19, 2019, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II received His Excellency Mor Youhanna Jihad Battah, the newly elected Syriac Catholic Archbishop of Damascus, at the Patriarchal Headquarters in Bab Touma – Damascus.The meeting was attended by their Eminences: Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Patriarchal Vicar in the Patriarchal Archdiocese of Damascus, Mor Anthimos Jack Yacoub, Patriarchal Vicar for Youth Affairs and Christian Education, and Very Rev. Raban Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director, and Deacon Imad Syryany.
During the meeting, His Excellency invited His Holiness to the ceremony of his installation as Archbishop. He wished the presence of His Holiness and asked for his blessings and his prayers seeking the grace of the Lord in his ministry.
