Consecration of Mor Izozoel Church – Berlin

On August 18, 2019, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II consecrated Mor Izozoel Church in Berlin – Germany.

His Holiness was assisted by their Eminences: Mor Philoxenus Mattias Nayis, Patriarchal Vicar in Germany, Mor Dionysius Issa Gurbuz, Patriarchal Vicar in Switzerland and Austria, Mor Julius Hanna Aydin, Director of External Relations in Germany, Mor Polycarpus Aydin, Patriarchal Vicar in Holland, Mor George Kourieh, Patriarchal Vicar in Belgium, France and Luxemburg, and Anba Damian, Coptic Orthodox Bishop of Northern Germany.

At the end of the rite of the consecration, His Holiness and their Eminences the Archbishops celebrated the Divine Liturgy.

In his sermon, His Holiness congratulated the members of Mor Izozoel parish in Berlin on the consecration of their new church. He pointed out that this building is no longer an ordinary building, it became the house of the Lord where the faithful gather to pray together and praise the Lord. He commended the efforts of the parish priest and its council who worked together to complete the project. His Holiness hoped that this parish remains active and continues to be devoted to prayer and spiritual gatherings where the faithful can find rest and spiritual nourishment.

At the end of the Holy Qurobo, His Eminence Mor Philoxenus Mattias Nayis thanked His Holiness for consecrating the church and conveyed the gratitude of the entire congregation.
