On October 10, 2019, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II visited the Governor of Lattaqia Mr. Ibrahim Khodr Al-Salem, at the Governate headquarters in Lattaqia.
Mr. Khodr welcomed His Holiness, and espressed his appreciation for his visit to the Lattaqia. His Holiness thanked the governor and spoke with him about the presence of our Syriac Orthodox Church in Lattaqia, and the project of building a Church for our parish there.
His Holiness is accompanied by His Eminence Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Patriarchal Vicar of the Patriarchal Archdiocese of Damascus, and Very Rev. Raban Boutros Kassis, Patriarchal Delegate in Aleppo and Environs, and Director of the Financial Department as well as the President of the Parish Council Mr. Hisham Naima, and Mr. Jamil Jabbouri.
