On November 15, 2019, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II met representatives of Churches in El Salvador.
The representatives of the churches expressed their joy to meet His Holiness and welcomed him in El Salvador. They informed him about the activities they do in collaboration with each others. His Holiness spoke about the history of the Syrian Orthodox Church and the apostolic See of Antioch mentioning the major historical events especially the persecutions that our forefathers endured to preserve the faith and to spread it among all nations. They also discussed the challenges that face the Christian missions in Central America whereby His Holiness encouraged the cooperation of all churches for the service of the people of God and the Holy Church.
His Holiness was accompanied by their Eminences Archbishops: Mor Yacoub Eduardo, Archbishop of Central America, Mor Clemis Eugene Kaplan, Patriarchal Vicar of the Archdiocese for the Western USA, Mor Selwanos Boutros Al-Nehmeh, Archbishop of Homs, Hama, Tartous and Environs, Mor Dionysius John Kawak, Patriarchal Vicar of the Archdiocese for the Eastern USA.
